MHS BULLDOG BAND

Mrs. Adams is a 2009 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a proud alumna of the Bulldog Band. During her time at Martinsburg, she served as Drum Major of the Bulldog Marching Band from 2007 to 2009 and was honored with the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award in 2009. She later returned to her alma mater to make history as the first female Band Director at Martinsburg High School.

Mrs. Adams earned her Bachelor of Music Education (K–12) from Shepherd University, where she also served as Drum Major of the Ram Band in 2014. She went on to receive a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from West Virginia State University in 2018. Her professional achievements include being named a Quarterfinalist for the Music Educator Award by the Recording Academy Grammy Museum in both 2024 and 2027, as well as receiving the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow Award.

A dedicated leader in music education, Mrs. Adams serves as the WVSSAC Region IX Concert Band Festival Chair, Secretary for the Region IX Bandmasters, and a member of the Executive Board of the West Virginia Bandmasters Association. At Martinsburg High School, she sponsors the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Music Composers Club, and all instrumental ensembles including the award-winning Bulldog Marching Band and Jazz Ensembles.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Adams is an active trumpet performer, participating in church services, local recitals, and performing with the Jordan English Jazz Orchestra.
